PORTFOLIO > LARGE SCALE STUDIO WORK

The gold leafed circle image suspended within the glass can only be seen as a true circle and square when one is perfectly centered in front of this piece. If you view the piece from any other angle the form breaks up and reads as a bisected circle and square. As in meditation, you must be perfectly centered to enjoy the true effect of the piece. This is part of a larger series of work in which I have used metal leaf on glass and encapsulated it in the stone with laminated glass panels on either side. The image reads quite differently from day to night. During the day, the form is emphasized as one looks through the piece. At night, light is reflected back by the gold leaf image.
